The change in name from UKCAT to UCAT is due to an increase global representation of the UCAT as a more internationally recognized admission test for medical school. The change took place in 2019; since the new name UCAT has been implement, various location such as Australia and New Zealand now use the test for medical school admission vetting. The name adopted is UCAT ANZ.
